An open loft can feel spacious while offering limited acoustic separation. A newer townhouse may have bedrooms spread across several floors. Compare sleeping arrangements, laundry, stroller or bike storage and access to outdoor space with your actual household routine.

Review sound separation, exterior responsibilities and reserves in a condominium. For a townhouse, inspect roofs, drainage and any deck or garage rather than treating them as automatic advantages.
